 A pub is seen situated near the sea as the movie starts. There were some activities held daily such as singing and dancing. This pub was being run by a father and a son named "Gaspard". Gaspard's father says to his son. My son! We are not getting much profit from this pub. And we have to tackle it separately. Why should we not begin another business , finishing it? "Gaspard" says, No Father! This pub has been started by my mother! These are some memories which always make me to miss her. We will not sell it. Let it run as it is ! A man comes out of the pub. Coming out, he hears the singing of a song from the sea. Being allured, he begins to move towards it. He goes deep into the water as he is drowned. One day, "Gaspard" is also coming out of the pub. He hears the same singing voice which was heard from the sea by that man. But the shocking fact is this, "Gaspard" does not allure from it. "Gaspard" used to live alone in his house. He is moving towards his house where sometimes his neighbour girl used to visit . Who had been worn too much makeup and used to smoke every time. "Gaspard" had a rickshaw in which he used to travel everywhere. One day, "Gaspard" goes to the pub and he is talking with his father. Then he knows that his father has shared this pub. It means, he has sold half of the pub property to anyone else. He says to his father, feeling depressed, You did not honour my words. And he comes outside from there. And he goes at the bank of the river. Suddenly, he glimpses a tail there which was indicating that it belonged to a big fish. She is mermaid when he keenly observes. He does not understand either she is girl wearing any costume, Or it is a real mermaid. He carries that mermaid to a hospital by his rickshaw. Because she is unconscious. Being alone, he moves into the hospital alone. Whereas, that mermaid is in rickshaw outside. There is also a standing male doctor. Who catches the sight of that mermaid. He also thinks as she is perhaps a girl wearing a costume. She might have been knocked out in the party. He comes to her and starts treating, bringing his stethoscope. At the same time, mermaid awakens. And she begins to sing the same song. This singing voice had been heard by "Gaspard" and that man. This song was sung by this mermaid not by anyone else. Which was sensed very alluring by others. Hearing this song, that standing doctor's condition begin to worsen. His heart rate is increased. He sits, coming inside. He was also facing problem in breathing. "Gaspard" comes to know , going inside, That he has not brought his medical insurance card nor he has payment. The hospital management apologizes saying, We will not be able to treat her without it. "Gaspard" hurriedly goes outside and drives off his rickshaw, taking that mermaid. Meanwhile, mermaid's skin is shed there and her blue blood is also dropped. Because she was also wounded. Meantime, that doctor's wife proceeds to him. She says, Don't worry! I will save you. Actually, she is also a lady doctor. Now he is brought to the operating theater. But his heart rate was increased too much that it was not being controlled. Consequently, his heart explodes inside the body. And he dies for no cause. His wife is grieved. At last, what happened? But she is unable to detect anything. Further, it is seen that "Gaspard" brings that mermaid into his house. Taking the advantage of his bathtub, he fills it with the water, And he places that mermaid into it. Because he had confirmed that she is mermaid. Neither that girl, wearing a costume. After this, "Gaspard" starts to cook food. At this time, that mermaid also restores her consciousness. Coming into the senses, she begins to sing the same song which she used to sing. She checks either "Gaspard" is alluring towards her. She is left surprised seeing it that "Gaspard" is not being allured. He is neither liking the song nor feeling bad. He is overlooking it. And this thing irritates the mermaid. Because only "Gaspard" is not getting any effect while it allures others. "Gaspard" is singing that song after some time. But he is not moving to the mermaid to hear this song. Because he may be killed if he went to the mermaid. Why he was not alluring? Even though he was unaware about this fact. After a while, "Gaspard" supplies her food. And both dine together. Mermaid eventually asks "Gaspard" after deliberation, Are you not interesting in my song? "Gaspard" asks, Which song! It is a common song. Mermaid says, I am realizing that you are apathetic! You never felt something for anyone till now. "Gaspard" tells him, No! You are mistaking! I was also in love! I had deeply in love with a girl. I lost my kinship when she went away from me. And I gave my words to myself that I will never be in love again. No feeling bred in my heart till now from that time. I don't even want to talk any girl if I ever cast a glance at her. When "Gaspard" visited in that hospital for mermaid's treatment. He had forgotten his mother's diary on that hospital's counter. Which he used to keep it in his possession after his mother's death. That diary comes in the hand of the same lady doctor. When she comes outside then she checks a blue liquid, dropped on the floor. She knows that it is surely blood, having blood cells. Why is this in blue colour? She starts suspecting. Contrarily, "Gaspard" is also worried thinking someone may not get that diary. He runs to the hospital. Mermaid is lying in the bath tub and she is alone at house. Observing it, Gaspard's neighbour moves to her. That she may not feel lonesome. She is even unaware that she is not a girl but a mermaid. She just thinks that she is taking bath. Now mermaid asks her, Who is that "Gaspard"? Can you tell me the details about him? There was still in her mind that , why is my song not alluring "Gaspard"? Gaspard's neighbour was already fond of telling stories. So she begins to tell the story of "Gaspard". She tells, "Gaspard" was small kid when his mother died. He neither used to talk with anyone nor he had trust in anyone. But a girl comes in his life as he grew young. "Gaspard" shared his secrets with her while trusting. But that girl betrayed him, breaking his heart. So his trust was broken. It has not been recovered till today. Mermaid tells her, I had also lost my mother in my childhood. She begins to take pity on "Gaspard". Because she knew that it is the intense feeling of pathos to lose the parents in young age. That neighbour leaves from there, revealing it. But she forgets her cigarette and lighter there. Mermaid is also interested to know, what is actually in these cigarettes? She begins to lighten the cigarette. But she sets the house on fire in doing so. Contrarily, "Gaspard" does not get his diary, So he comes back to the pub to meet his father as being sad. Here he begins to talk with his father again. But he gets the news that his house has set on fire. So he sets out to his house by his rickshaw. But mermaid had rescued herself, moving to another room in the Gaspard's house. And she begins to sing her song to relax herself. The firemen had also approached there. Who move to her after being allured of her voice. And they are killed in the same way as the previous people died. "Gaspard" comes in rage when he witnesses while returning. He asks mermaid, How do you live here now? So he leaves her in her neighbour's house. "Gaspard" was also worrying along with it. So he says to his neighbour, Keep alert for her water! His neighbour asks him, Why are you worrying so much? You never thought as such for any girl before! How have you become so soft hearted "Gaspard"? "Gaspard" comes outside, ignoring this. He says, Just do what has been said to you! Now mermaid herself asks "Gaspard", Have you started to like me? Why are you caring for me so much? I did not help you in any matter. "Gaspard" says to her, You are just boasting . I don't like you! Then "Gaspard" asks, Why do people meet their end after hearing your song? Mermaid tells that our song consists some of the rays. They protect us but remain unseen for the a person who is in front of us. So no man can come near to us. But I am surprised , Why did your heart not develop as such feelings? To which these rays may check. Anyhow, I am happy that you are alive! And you are along with me! "Gaspard" was also very excited on this. That mermaid is with him. But mermaid wanted that she may leave from here as soon as possible. Otherwise, "Gaspard" will also be victimized if not today then tomorrow! Mermaid says for him, I will do something! She says to "Gaspard", I want the outdoor dining! She calls that neighbour when "Gaspard" goes out to take the food. She requests her, Leave me into the sea again! I want to return my dwelling. She tells that I don't want to stay her because I don't want to put Gaspard's life at risk. Being sentimental, she starts to weep. Here it is seen that her eyes are not shedding tears but the pearls. And it is the attribute of the mermaids. On the other side, It is seen in the hospital, that lady doctor is investigated that blue blood. She comes to know that it is surely blood. But it is not the blood of human beings. Then she begins to feel awkward. After more investigation, she knows that "Gaspard" had arrives here at that night. So she reaches his house. When "Gaspard" returns to his house, taking food. He notices , that lady doctor is near his house bathtub. But mermaid is not in that bathtub. And he starts worrying, noticing it. Here his heart which is replete with feelings for the first time beats fast. He faces the same consequences here as the others faced. He suffers a heart attack. Actually, mermaid had not returned to the sea. That lady doctor had brought her into the hospital along with her. Now she was going to conduct the experiments on her. There is an accompanied boy, He suggests to her, Lady doctor! We should not conduct experiments on her. She may lose her life during this experiment. Do you know? She is last survived mermaid. She should be left back. But that lady doctor wanted to avenge of her husband. Then that neighbour comes there, masking herself. Then she moves lady doctor to another hospital room , managing it. Finding a chance of it, "Gaspard" also arrives there. And they both bring her out of this room together. "Gaspard" ties that stretcher with his rickshaw and begins to drive. Here "Gaspard" was not completely recovered. In spite of it, he was driving rickshaw. Now two days had passed . And he knew that mermaid cannot survive out of the sea more than 2 days. And she has to place into the sea as soon as possible. But he knew if he left her in the sea at once, Then he will continuously fall ill because of her parting. And mermaid will be died if she stays here. So he leaves her in that sea, sacrificing his love. His heart rate is increased as he returns back. He is missing mermaid. He is feeling inactive. And he suffers heart attck there. He begins to remember the words of mermaid. That she never wanted as she sings a song before "Gaspard" as he was good person. She would have not sung a song if she had known that "Gaspard" will begin to like her. Nor "Gaspard" had heart attack. Fortunately, that lady doctor approaches there. She feels as "Gaspard" is her own husband. She is fantasizing in which one realizes the another person's face into another one. Because she used to miss her husband too much. So she secures the life of "Gaspard". Then a flask is given to "Gaspard" which had the pearls like tears of mermaid. They were so costly. "Gaspard" purchases a ship after selling them. He says, I will go back into the sea in search of that mermaid. I will meet her but not take her out of the sea. So neither her life put into danger nor mine. And the movie completes on this scene.
